Professor Dan Shnit was appointed chairman of Yeladim - The Council for the Child in Placement, replacing Professor Shimon Spiro at the conclusion of a four-year term. Professor Shnit, a Doctor of Law and Szold Prize Laureate, served as head of the Tel Aviv University School of Social Work and lectured on subjects related to law, welfare and the civil rights of at-risk population groups. He served as a Special Advisor to Ora Namir, Israel Minister of Labor and Welfare during the years 1992-1995 and had published three books and numerous articles in Israel and abroad. Dan Shnit is married to Nurit Shnit, the Central Region District Attorney and father of three. |
