"Magic Moments" with a Camera for Children in Residential Group Care and for their Families Yeladim- the Council for the Child in Placement, opened a unique photo exhibit on June 1, 2004 which expresses the dreams of children between the ages of 6 and 18 who are not living with their families. Two hundred pictures of the children together with their families will be exhibited. In front of the cameras the children have played out an experience of which they dream. In light of the importance we attach to the relationship between these children and their families, we have emphasized this year photographing the children together with their parents, their siblings, and other relatives. Documenting for them these relationships will remain an attractive reminder for the future, and will contribute to the strengthening of the relationship between these children and their families despite the distress of the past which caused them to be removed from their homes. The pictures were taken by volunteers who worked for half a year with the children. The pictures were accompanied by comments made by the children. |
