Israel Microsoft Begins a Second Year of Activity with Children in the "Yuvalim" Residential Group Home

Over a year ago Israel Microsoft adopted the Council and the "Yuvalim" residential group home in Kfar Saba. Last week the children of Yuvalim and the employees of Microsoft got together to celebrate their second year of joint activities. During the day's events, which took place in Alexander Forest, the children and adults formed groups and engaged in sports competitions that included soccer and wall climbing.

Approximately one quarter of Microsoft employees have volunteered to work individually with children in the group home. During the course of the year, all the holidays were celebrated together with the children, and they were hosted at the company's offices where they were entertained with various shows and presentations. Because of these voluntary activities, Microsoft Israel was awarded the 2004 President's Prize for Volunteer Work. It was the first time that a commercial firm was awarded the President's Prize. Arieh Scope, Microsoft Executive Director, reported: "It is my hope that during the coming year the volunteer work of the company will be expanded, and that the warm relationship between us and the children of the group home will be deepened".
