Over a million Shekels were raised by "Yeladim- Fair Chance for children" at an event in Tel Aviv's Cultural Center on March 22, 2006 in order to provide educational, treatment and rehabilitation programs for thousands of children living in residential group care. Approximately 3,000 people responded to the appeal of Galia Maor, CEO of Bank Leumi, and participated in the fund-raising event of "Yeladim- Fair Chance for children". The result: over a million Shekels were raised. "Yeladim – the Council for the Child in Placement" celebrated twenty years of activity, and changed its name to "Yeladim- Fair Chance for children" at a one-time performance of Rami Kleinstein, Shiri Maimon and Ivry Lider. Galia Maor spoke about the contribution of the business community to social and community causes and of their aid to Israel's needy population. "As CEO of Bank Leumi and as a private individual, I deeply approve of the goal of offering children and youth equal opportunities to advance within society and within the business world". Galia spoke of her friends and acquaintances in the business world who lent a helping hand and contributed to the evening's joint effort, including Nochi Dankner from I.D.B., Jonathan and Irit Kolber from "Koor Industries", Yehudit and Rami Nussbaum, "Astrom Inc.", Chami and Gila Peres, "Pitango", Devorah and Eli Fischer, "Dr. Fischer", Ami Arel, "Daskash", Dory Dankner, "Alon", and Shlomo Nechama from Bank Hapoalim. |
