The Business community offered help for Children in residential Group Care when they attended the Annual Event of "Fair Chance for Children" at Tel-Aviv's Art Palace on November 24, 2008 Despite the difficult financial situation, hundreds of members of Israel's business community came to celebrate together with Galia Maor, Chair of the Friends Association, Yehudit Nussbaum, Sigal Bar On, Carry Rechter, Gila Peres and Nomi Atias, at "Fair Chance for Children"'s annual event. The art program was dedicated to the songs composed by Nurit Hirsch, and they were sung by the best of Israel's new and veteran singers: Marina Maksimalian Blumen, Harel Skat, Ilanit, Yizhar Cohen, Ruchama Raz, and Nurit Hirsch who performed together with her daughter, Ruthie Rosenfeld, an impressive opera singer who flew in from a performance in London. The event was engagingly conducted (as a volunteer) by the actress Michal Yanai. Prof. Dan Shnit announced the intention of the organization to devote "quality time" to children in residential group care, and he added that "offering quality time according to the needs of each child in residential group care.. is what the organization is about". Galia Maor appealed to her friends in the business community and said that "All of us are concerned about the harm that the economic crisis is causing, and many of us who are sitting her are fighting to keep our business concerns alive. This is an opportunity to hope that for all of us these difficult days will pass. Perhaps because of our "togetherness" and our contributions to the community we will pass through this period more easily". Galia added that the cost of one quality hour for a child is 36 Shekels, and the cost of a year's quality time, estimated at 3,600 Shekels, can be the key to a normal, productive life.
