Hanukah Fun for children in Residential Group Homes With no family backing Hanukah is a holiday that is principally one that makes children happy. We all remember when we were children how we stood excitedly each evening as the candles were lit and we received "Hanukah gelt" from loving relatives and and we ate sufganiyot together. 6,500 children who live in residential group homes do not have a family Hanukah experience. Some 400 of them have no family at all. They have no home to return to. In order to enable these children to enjoy Hanukah, "Fair Chance for Children" decided to give them a full Hanukah sports holiday with lots of fun and care. In order to do this, the owners of the Dekel Country Club have contributed their facilities for their use. There is a heated swimming pool, a soccer field, a basketball court, tennis courts, and other holiday facilities. Ayal Tzur contributed jumping facilities and Nes Company contributed sufganiyot and is sending volunteers who will help operate the facilities with the children for the day. Finally, the Mizrachi Bank will contribute a back pack for each of the children.
